The Summer Happenings Program consists of four 2-week sessions with the option to sign-up for a week, a session, or the entire summer! The extended  Program provides additional hours 3:30-5:30 PM for those who need it. Our program is offered to children in kindergarten through sixth grade; however they are separated into groups by their grade for age-appropriate activities.  The groups rotate to various stations throughout the day to participate in a variety of activities with access to air-conditioned classrooms, a gymnasium, and outdoor spaces surrounding the Community Center.  Participants have the opportunity to attend weekly day an additional cost. All of our staff and counselors are CPR & First-aid certified.

On Friday, August 9th there is "NO" on-site program due to the Arts Festival occupying the building.  You must either register your child/children for the Field Trip or make alternate arrangements for the day.  Please contact the office with any questions/concerns.

Clearly LABEL all your child/children’s belongings with their full name
• Bathing suit
• Towel
• Sun shirt or an extra shirt for water activities
• Sunscreen (applied in the morning)
• Sneakers or sandals with straps
• Change of clothes
• Non-perishable bag lunch (additional snack & drink if attending extended day
• Refillable water bottle

Our purpose is to provide an inexpensive, age –appropriate opportunity for all youth to experience indoor and outdoor activities, both passive and active with their peers, all while creating great memories and new friends.

• Peanut or tree nut products
• Cellphones, I-pods, Kindles, or other electronics
• Toys

Above are several items that cause distractions and limit interaction.
Any participant that needs to contact a parent or guardian may use the office phone.

Note: If a participant is observed with any of the items above he or she can expect the staff to take the item; it will be held in the office until pick-up time.

• Drop-off 8:30-8:45 AM - NO EARLY DROP-OFF
• Pick-Up 3:15-3:30 PM
• Enter through the library entrance and drive around the back of the community center building and come back around to the front of the building towards the bandstand. Summer Happenings staff will be there to check your child in.
• Please do not allow your child to exit the vehicle until a Summer Happenings staff has check your child in
• We will provide families with a dashboard place card and ask that parent/guardians have it visible on your dashboard for pick-up. Also, roll down your window and be ready to present your photo ID. No child will be released if a valid photo ID is not presented by an authorized dismissal person.
• Extended Day Pick-Up at the Office (after 3:30 PM)

  • Recreation will provide 1 t-shirt that is required to be worn on field trip days.
  • Any child in attendance on the day of a field trip without a shirt will be provided at the cost to the parent.
  • Must register for trips separately- cost not included in weekly or session cost
  • Deadline to register is two Fridays before the trip
  • Days of the trips are typically Wednesdays, but for some trips days may vary
  • Refer to Trip Information sheet to make sure your child is here on time and properly prepared for each trip.
  • Note: Lunch must be packed for all trips unless otherwise noted on permission slip. Lunch cannot be purchased on the trip.

Proper behavior in Recreation Department programs is expected at all times. If improper behavior cannot be corrected after the second occurrence, then parents will be notified that the child/children will have to be excused from the programs.

The Community Center and our play areas are being improved yearly. Please impress upon your child/children that he/she must treat all of our facilities with care and RESPECT. Our summer program is allowed to use the Community Center only as long as we take care of it.

1. Registrations will continue until program is full. Registrations are processed upon receipt of completed registration form and annual membership fee or parent can register their child on-line (
2. A sibling discount ($70.00) is offer only when both children attend the full session and it will be applied at checkout.
3. We now accept Visa, MasterCard, & Discover online ,n-office we also accept cash, check, or money order.
4. An automated e-mail will serve as confirmation for drop-off/mail-in registration or payments are processed.
5. If you withdraw from the program two weeks prior to the start a refund will be issued less the deposit. However, if you withdraw after the session has closed; you are not eligible for a refund UNLESS your spot can be filled prior to the start of the session. If the spot is filled your refund will be processed less the original deposit (cancellation/processing fee).
6. Late fees will be automatically charged if activity fee is not paid by its due date; weekly will incur a $10.00, Sessions will incur a $20.00 late fee and the Extended Day program will incur a $5.00 late fee.
7. Extended Day 3:30- 5:30 PM. Children preregistered into the Extended Day program the weekly rate is $30.00 per week/per participant. Preregistered drop-in rate is $ 7.00 per hour (a one hour minimum) to be eligible for the discounted hourly rate a 48 hour advance notice required.

Late or last minute participants will be charged $10.00 per hour with a one hour minimum.

The safety of the children depends on keeping our ratios low and too many unexpected drop-offs and late pick-ups can jeopardize the ratios. The best way to know if you are late in the afternoon is if you must come in the building to pick-up your child. If you are on time you will be able to utilize the drive up.
