Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis.  A paddle sport created for all ages and skill levels. The rules are simple and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-paced game.Wear comfortable clothing and sneakers. Recreation recommends that you protect yourself with sun screen and bug spray. Ages 6-8: Introduces kids to tennis using foam and/or red ball which has a lower compression than standard tennis balls. Kids will be introduced to the tennis basics with active drills and games, with the main emphasis on being fun! Ages 9-12: Introduces kids to orange and or /green ball that have a lower compression than a regular tennis ball. Kids will learn tennis basics that include learning the rules, developing their stroke, and understanding basic concepts with fun skills and drills games. Dress comfortably, wear sneakers,  wear face covering, bring a water bottle and racket.Registration will open of March 1st.   All lessons will be held at the Community Center Tennis Court (located behind the Town Hall)Cost: $95.00 ResidentCost: $105.00 Non-ResidentsInstructor from F.A.S.T. General Guidelines:  with adherence to the updated State Guidelines:At this time the Town of Pembroke/Recreation Department is opening fields and courts for spring and summer sports with the understanding should the number of COVID case in Pembroke increase or if the Governor impose additional restrictions programs could be revoked. Participants/Instructors must wear a mask at all times in the building Facial coverings/Masks must be worn at all times – this includes while engaged in any activity; includes all instructors and participants Maintain social distancing of at least 6’ when moving about the building; and wear masks Do not share your racquet's!

This class helps kids exceed far beyond the scope of the stage by increasing confidence, improving speaking skills, and helping students build trust through team building exercises.  Coupled with the fact the improv games always spark fits of fun and laughter, this class is a perfect fir for kids and teens alike.During this 5 week course students will explore all types of improv.               They will participate in creative-dramatics and movement, as well as, writing directing and performing in small groups skits.
